The Tinton Falls Girls Softball League held its all star games this past Saturday ,May 23rd at Liberty Park.The 14u/12u game was played at 9 am and saw a dominating perfromance by Team Red in a 22-5 victory over Team Blue .The 10u game saw Team Red rally with 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th and hold on for an exciting 4-3 win over Team Blue in the 11:30 game.The TFGSL would like to send out a special thanks to all the parents who came out tho support the league on such a special day for all the girls who participated, to 8u asst coach Dave Skubik who manned the concession stand for the entire event and to all the board members who made the day the best it could be for the girls both on and off the field .I also didnt want to forget to mention Jena Angelides and Alexa Kissane for their singing of the National Anthem before the games and Joe Coppola and Seth Murphy for their announcing the players during game action.Mike Lane Tinton Falls Gazette
The Tinton Falls Girls Softball League kicked off it's 2009 season with games in the 10u,12u,and 14u division on Saturday April 4th. The 10u division saw the Dodgers defeat the Angels 5-1 in the battle of California as both teams played solidly behind some very strong pitching and defense. In the 12u division , the Reds used an overwhelming offensive attack to bury the Royals 15-4 in the battle of the Midwest and in the 14u division the Phillies scalped the Indians 9-1 behind a very strong pitching effort.The 10u game between the Yankees and Marlins rained out and will be rescheduled in May.The league now takes its annual break for the Easter vacation but resumes play on Tuesday April 21st with the 12u Reds heading on the road to take on Eatontown, on Wednesday April 22nd the 14u Indians are hosting River Plaza while the 14u Phillies travel to Eatontown, Thursday April 23rd has the 10u Yankees traveling to Colts Neck,the 10u Dodgers also traveling into Colts Neck,and the Angels hosting the Marlins in a 10u division game.Special thanks to all the girls and parents along with the hard working volunteers and groundscrew that made the Opening Day of the season such a special one!
