2009 Skills Camps
It is that time of year again when the rec softball season is coming to an end and most of the girls are looking to continue to learn and play the sport in one capacity or another. Volunteers and coaches will be running the 2009 TFGSL SUMMER CAMP. The girls that are eligible for the camp are those that have participated this year in the 8/10/12/14 U divisions along with those girls who are playing with the TFGSL travel team (Monmouth Surf). We will need a response from all that plan to attend by Friday June 19th.
8U Camp
If your players is in or is moving up from 8U, this is the camp for her. The skills covered will prepare them for the 10U level.
Summary:
Time: Mon & Weds 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Where: Liberty Field
When: July 6 thru 29th
Cost: $25
To be covered in 8U camp:
Fielding: We will start with basic fundamentals and graduate towards implementing the basics into situational play.
Batting: Players will learn the fundamentals of the swing along with pitch recognition, plate coverage and understanding the count.
Baserunning: Players will learn how to run the bases to include; rounding the base properly, picking up the coach and sliding.
Pitching: Players will learn the basic fundamentals of the windmill pitch to include; wrist snap, progressions, long toss and full windmill.
Game play: we will end most sessions with a scrimmage highlighting the skill of the day.

10/12/14U Camp
If your players is in or is moving up from 10/12/14U, this is the camp for her. Including any player that will be moving out of 14U that would like to participate.
Summary:
Time: 5:45 - 8:00 pm
Where: Mon at MFA, Weds at Hockhockson Fields
When: July 6 thru 29th
Cost: $40Drills for all age groups will include: -Batting
-Hitting with concentration to all fields
-Pitching
-Fielding and situational defense
-Bunting
-Running the bases effectively
-Sliding
-Catching for those interested
The cost of the camp will be $40.00 with checks made payable to the Tinton Falls Girls Softball League. Girls will recieve a 2009 Camp T shirt along with pizza and soda on the last Monday and a game under the lights at Hock on the last Wednesday.
