Coaches Corner:
Well, it has been great coaching the 10-U girls softball team. The girls on my team have been getting along and playing well. We won four straight before our most recent loss to the Rockies. We made fielding errors which cost us the game. The girls have been learning about being patient at the plate, discipline, leadership, teamwork, and learning how to never give up. I tell them if you have fun, hustle, play hard you'll win!!!

How are the Yankees in first place?!?

The Yankees and the Orioles should be tied for first. They have the same number of wins but for some reason the Yankees haven't played as many games.

Dear Anonymous:
The reason why the Yankees are in first place is because they only were able to play 8 games due to the other teams not being able to make them up. The Yankees beat the Orioles 1x this season and that is the other reason. If they played the Orioles today, it may have been a different story altogehter. Who knows. May be the Orioles can have another shot if the Orioles beat the Cubs and the Rockies lose to the Yanks. It would be sweet don't you think???

Oops I accidentally spelled the word altogether incorrectly. Sorry!!! Let's hear for all the teams for doing a great job this year. Also, thanks to Mike Stanton for running the show. I feel the coaches have done a great job with the players.

Dear Parents of the Orioles:
It has been a wonderful season going from 0-2 to 6-4 for the season. I hope we can win our next two games. We have a chance to become the champs. The hard work we have done has paid off. A special thanks to all the parents who helped with the snacks each game. Additionally, a special thanks to the assistant coaches, Silvana Sotillo, Mike Murphy, Jorge Brito, and Tony Licata. I know Jorge and Tony probably do not feel they were coaches, but they also helped me a great deal . Thank you for all of the coaches hard work towards making the players as great as they have been all season. I really enjoyed coaching this year with your children. I wish for nothing but the best next year. I will be coaching next year in 12-U. I hope to see some of the players next year. Without the parents and the coaches our team would not be as good as they are today. Let's win on Thursday. Always remember to "have fun, hustle, play hard, and may be just may be you'll win.

Thats not it at all. Obviously Mike pays me to keep the Yankees on top! The sham will be over when Vic takes over the website next season!

How was a board picked when there was no notification of when the vote was taking place? No date or Time. There was nothing posted on the website and nothing sent home with my child. There wasn't an email sent to everyone in the league. Sounds like an inside job if i ever seen one. I guess the 8 current board memebers were the only ones contacted.

I have to agree with anonymous....took my kids to saturday sign up and was informed their was a board formed...how did this happen? All parents should be alerted for a vote or something. Maybe more of us want to be involved. I am new to league, but seems fishy to me too!

Who voted this "board" listed on front page of this site? You need to inform town, and parents involved to vote....I am questioning returning to U10 with this, "whatever you want to call it!" Also, what is with the volunteer application...how about just getting qualified volunteers?

A board? when did we all vote? who said these people were the most qualified? It needs to be a town effort, doesn't seem the town matters. But, it hasn't mattered for a while.

U10 Travel

Why is there only a U10 travel team offered? What about the U8, U12 and U14 girls. Why only offer to one group. What about all the other girls that are part of MGSL and are not U10? Why doesn't our league participate in the little league world series for softball? Lincroft U10 girls went to districts last year and played well into the the summer. Tinton Falls had a carnival???

When was this so called "board" even made? The people on it might not even be the best people for the job, but i guess the players and the parents don't get a say in anything in this softball league.

It is really appauling that we have problems with our batting cages. There have been thieves who stoled the dimpled balls and bats. Why I do not know? I hope they find the thieves. I hope we can still utilize the batting cages. There has to be something that we can do to stop this issue from happening again. Who has suggestions about how to handle the stealing at our batting cages???

I am very disappointed with the fact that cursing is allowed on the field. You can argue all you want, but as the grandparent of a child involved in this game (either a player/umpire) allowing the coach of the Yankees to curse across the field and use the "f" word (I believe my grandchild when she says she heard it, not the adult who needs to cover it up) this so-called board should be ashamed of itself. Nevertheless, there were no consequence to this coach. He is still coaching our team. Now we know why, the parents were not allowed to be involved in the choosing of the board because we never would have chosen someone who curses on the field and it is obvious the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
